This year for the annual Lego convention, Gavin took in his own build to show! He built an apartment building he called the Garden Apartments.
We met Gavin's friend, Aspen, at the convention and walked around with her family. So many creative builds to see!!
This giant tree was made from a lot of technic pieces and took the group about a year to build. Here is a video of it talking although you can't hear much over the background noise. But you can see the face moving!
Here is a space station and one of the sections had a daycare.
Some moving dragons...
Here is a Steampunk Treehouse with a forest floor full of carnivorous plants.
Pirate ship being taken down by the Kraken.
Seven Dwarves Mine
Battle of the Black Pearl and HMS Endeavor
Giant castle with LOTS of minifigs
Then the kids got to do some building
An array of ships and castles
The above pic is a real aquarium with real fish in it and lots of Lego!
One large table held a giant chain reaction build that went all around the table, It took 13 minutes for one ball to make it all the way around.
Here is another video on the other side of the table.Death star filled with Minions
Tennis match with the spectators watching closely
Frog trying to catch a fly and tadpoles below the surface of the water
Then we did a quick trip to Phoenix over Labor Day weekend to spend time with Grandparents! Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to the Fire Museum.
We enjoyed lots of time playing games and playing the Grandma's toys (magnatiles, hot wheels, puzzles, etc.)
