On day six in Rome, we did our own walking tour to see some of the popular spots we hadn't seen yet. First up was the Trevi Fountain! We got there around 8:30am and there were already 50+ people there. They now block off an area in front of the fountain at 9am and you have to buy a ticket to get a close-up look.
I also took a video of the Trevi Fountain to try to capture it:
We also did the customary coin toss from the right hand over the left shoulder into the fountain to insure you come back to Rome one day.
Left: Another sculpture decorating the corner of a building at a street intersection.
Below: Piazza Colonna which has the Column of Marcus Aurelius at the center. It's a 30 meter high marble column from 193 AD with intricate bas-reliefs detailing the Emperor's military triumphs.
This gorgeous building was a fancy mall (above, left, and below).
More impressive buildings we walked past.
Next few pics are inside a church - I do not remember which one!
Column of the Immaculate Conception - massive column topped with a bronze statue of the Virgin Mary. The base has four biblical statues. Every year on December 8th, the Pope visits this site and the firefighters use a long ladder to place a fresh wreath on the statue's arm.

The next few pictures are at the Spanish Steps (18th century steps built in a butterfly shape) and the Fontana della Barcaccia (17th century baroque fountain shaped like a ship).

Of course we had to stop at the Lego store and thy had a cool mural of the Trevi Fountain in Lego!
Our next stop was the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major. Huge church with lots of great artwork, beautiful ceilings and also the tomb of Pope Francis.
One of the confessionals.
