GAA: Yuma & Phoenix

Our road trip continued to Yuma where we stayed overnight to visit our friends the Slays and then we went to Phoenix to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler!

Christine & Gavin

Although our visit to Yuma was short, we had a great time catching up with Christine, Dave, and Brenden! Gavin got to dip his feet into the hot tub and try out some Legos! Christine was generous with giving Gavin some books and other items Brenden had outgrown. He had also received a lot of clothing from the Hortons in San Diego!!

We were able to spend a few days in Phoenix so Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler got lots of time with Gavin.

Story time with Grandma!
Gavin had to try out the piano! He loved hitting the different keys and hearing the sounds change!

He also had a great time on this scooter that Samantha (his cousin) keeps at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Jean came over to bring books and play with Gavin too!
We also got to go visit my Aunt Bev and Uncle Jim in Mesa and then met up with my childhood friend Laura and her two daughters, Sophia and Charlotte!

We really enjoyed seeing family and friends in Yuma and Phoenix. Wish we could have stayed longer in both places but we had so much driving to do and so many more people to visit! Hopefully we will see family and friends in CT!!

Real time update:
Edge is on his way back to the mainland. We were able to get him a flight out of Guam and he is currently doing his overnight in Hawaii. He will be arriving in Boston on Thursday night where Carlton will go pick him up and bring him to CT. Our household goods FINALLY arrived in CT! Last Friday we got news that the truck had broken down in New Jersey. Later that afternoon we were told that the truck that went to get our stuff had also broken down! So it took from Friday to yesterday for them to get a working truck to make it to CT. HOWEVER, now the moving company is so backed up because it is PCS season, we can't get our stuff delivered to us until June 27th! There is a chance that someone will cancel and we can get it earlier but right now we are scheduled for it to be delivered June 27th.
So we have Edge coming in Thursday night. No furniture, towels, cookware, etc. Our friends, the Schecters, are nice enough to lend us a bed so at least we won't have to buy an air mattress. Since the moving company is missing the required delivery date, they will reimburse us for some items that we need. Things like towels, linens, basic cookware, etc. And we did purchase a new couch which will be delivered on Monday. Until then we will have a fairly empty house....this should be interesting.
