On our drive to Phoenix for Christmas, we stopped at the Sand Caves near Kanab.

It was a nice, short hike with some tricky spots to navigate and all of us repelling down at the end. Fun adventure to break up the long drive!

Our Christmas was less than ideal - all of us were struck down with norovirus and we ended up celebrating Christmas on the 26th instead. We did recover enough to walk through a wonderful light display called Tianyu.

There were lots of cool moving parts to this display. Here's one section:

For New Year's, I took the kids to the local gym where they did a balloon drop at noon for the kids to celebrate.

They had a great time!! We started our New Year with a day in Park City skiing and snowboarding. I have one video of Carlton snowboarding with Avery skiing. (Gavin and I had gotten down a bit faster and he kept asking when they were going to get down). We were really trying to boost Avery's confidence - before this video, I had been on the mountain with her to ski down together and she was really scared and crying and didn't want to ski down. I finally had to put her between my legs so we could ski down together.
