Our third day in Italy we took the train back to Rome and settled into our hotel, then wandered around for a bit. These first three pictures were decorations on the street corners of an intersection.
The Fountain of Moses
Avery and Gavin next to this tiny Fiat!!
Next we went in to see this Church, Santa Maria della Vittoria which is one of the most important examples of the Baroque period in Rome (according to their website).
This sculpture on the left was done by Gian Lorenzo Bernini - The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa d'Avila. It's made of marble and gilded bronze, made between 1647 to 1652.
There is a net that obscures the ceiling a bit but you can still see all the sculptures.
I think this is one of the most ornate candle holders I have ever seen!
Above is the Piazza della Repubblica and to the left is the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs. We did not get a chance to go inside either building since we were on our way to dinner.
This was another church we passed after dinner - no idea the name of it but it was a nice view with the bell tower lit up and the moon nearby!
