Yosemite - Days 3 & 4

Our next day in Yosemite was spent checking out the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. The kids were amazed at the huge trees!

We saw some deer right next to the trail we were on to see the Grizzly Giant.

After exploring the Sequoia trees, we decided to walk around the Pioneer Yosemite History Center to check out the covered bridge and historic buildings from the early 1900's.

Back at the campground, the kids decided they wanted to feel the water of the creek. Of course it's snow melt, so they didn't stay in it long! Then while riding their scooters aorund the campground, they spotted a bat! It was injured though and crawled to safety at the base of a tree trunk.

The next morning we stopped so the kids could be sworn in as Junior Rangers and then hiked the Mirror Lake Trail.

We passed a rattlesnake right by the hiking trail!! Christine got this awesome pic of the whole snake (on the left)

The kids wanted to try the water here at Mirror Lake too (as if it would be warmer). There was talk of wading across to the other side since we discovered the trail didn't go all the way around and we were on the wrong side to see some of the sights. But we couldn't tell how deep it was and it was cold!

We got a few more pics of the sights in Yosemite Valley since it was our last day.

That is all for Yosemite!! Our next stop is Sequoia.
